ICP-MS

Total Organic Carbon Analyzer (TOC)

Total Organic Carbon analyzers determine the amount of carbon in a sample by first acidifying the sample, then flushing the sample with nitrogen. Flushing the sample with nitrogen removes inorganic carbon, leaving only carbon to be measured. Auto Sampling

Auto-samplers are often coupled with an analytical instrument that provides a periodical analysis of a large sample source, such as atmospheres, lakes, or in the manufacturing of a product – solid, liquid or gas. As a result of their automated and periodical analyses, auto-samplers allow for greater productivity, precision and accuracy in laboratories. Differential Scanning Calorimeter

Differential scanning calorimeters are used in a variety of analyses involving non-corrosive samples. Some analyses include; measuring melting temperature; heat of fusion; latent heat of melting; reaction energy and temperature; glass transition temperature; crystalline phase transition temperature and energy; precipitation energy and temperature; denaturation temperatures; oxidation induction times; and specific heat or heat capacity. In these analyses, an atmosphere is required for testing. At temperatures above 600°C, an inert atmosphere is required. Nitrogen is an inert gas and is used to create an atmosphere where these analyses can occur. Total Hydrocarbon Analyzer (THA)

Total hydrocarbon analyzers use flame ionization detection (FID) to measure the hydrocarbon concentrations at certain temperatures. Hydrogen is used in FID's as a detector fuel. Proton OnSite can produce high purity hydrogen on demand as needed for total hydrocarbon analyzers.

Thermal Gravimetric Analyzer (TGA)

Thermal gravimetric analyzers measure changes in the physical and chemical properties of a material as a function of increasing temperature (at a constant heating rate) or as a function of time (with constant temperature and/or constant mass loss). A flame ionization detector (FID) is used in thermal gravimetric analysis. Hydrogen is used as the carrier or fuel gas in the FID where the substance being analyzed is burned in a hydrogen flame. Why on-site gas generation?
