Thermal Gravimetric Analyzer

Thermal gravimetric analyzers measure changes in the physical and chemical properties of a material as a function of increasing temperature (at a constant heating rate) or as a function of time (with constant temperature and/or constant mass loss). A flame ionization detector (FID) is used in thermal gravimetric analysis. Hydrogen is used as the carrier or fuel gas in the FID where the substance being analyzed is burned in a hydrogen flame.
